About Our Charity

The Romaney Fugill Memorial Fund, to give the charity its full title, was set up in memory of brave Romy who died in 2005 from a rare aggressive childhood cancer. Readers of the Melton Times had been raising money in the hope of sending her to the United States for pioneering treatment. The charity was set up as a legacy in her name to help other children with life limiting conditions or complex needs and to support their families in times of hardship. The area of benefit is broadly the borough of Melton and awards are made at the discretion of the trustees in line with the charity's stated purpose.
